How your glass is made — and how we control it
We are an export trading company. The glass is made in partner factories in Foshan that we select and inspect. Here is the process, and what we check at each step.
Where it is made
Foshan sits inside the densest packaging cluster in the world: container-glass furnaces, closures, decoration, printing and cartons, all within about an hour. We work with a small number of factories there, chosen for their own furnace, mould tracking, food-contact compliance and export experience. We do not publish their names — we name the producing factory in every quotation, and you may inspect it.
01
Batch house
Silica sand, soda ash and limestone are weighed and mixed with cullet — recycled glass, which lowers the melting energy needed.
02
Furnace
Continuous melting, 24 hours a day. A container furnace cannot be cheaply stopped, which is why lead times follow the production campaign rather than the order date.
03
Gob forming
The glass stream is sheared into gobs of controlled weight, shape and temperature. Gob weight is what makes a jar consistent from the first pallet to the last.
04
Press-and-blow forming
A plunger presses the gob into a parison, which is then blown to final shape. Press-and-blow gives the even wall thickness a wide mouth needs.
05
Annealing lehr
Reheated and cooled under control to remove internal stress. Skipping this is how jars crack on a filling line months later.
06
Surface treatment
Hot-end and cold-end coatings protect the surface so jars survive conveyor contact without scuffing.
07
Inspection
Automated inspection rejects defects, with tracking back to the mould that produced each container.
08
Palletising
Palletised, layer-padded, stretch-wrapped and containerised for sea freight.
What we control
- Sample approval from an existing mould before any order
- Dimension and weight report against the drawing you approved
- Pre-shipment inspection to AQL, with photographs, before the balance is due
- Packing check: layer pads, stretch wrap, container loading plan
- Third-party inspection welcome at any stage
Trading company — and we say so
"Trading company presented as a factory" is the most common complaint in China sourcing, usually discovered during an audit after a deposit has been paid. We remove the question: we are the trading company, we tell you which factory makes your order, and we put our legal identity in writing before you pay.
